You can be whoever and whatever the fuck you want.

Whether that be an NBA basketball player, a teacher, or an entrepreneur—you can be it. And how will you get there? It’s simple—with talent, hard work, networking, and patience. All in all, by being the absolute best

Push your limits and live up to your highest self. Use your all of your pontential. Give everything your 100% and honor what you’re doing—the present.

Whatever you choose to be, you have to give it your all or else, what’s the point?

If you decide that you want to be a professional basketball player, you’re not going to practice just twice a week for an hour. You’re going to practice 7 times a week for a few hours, you’re going to watch the games, and research the best players to learn about how they got to where they are.

There is no “only one foot in and the other,” there is only, “just go out the goddamn door,” because if you’re not giving everything your all, if you’re not feeling it, then you’re not going to end up anywhere. You’re going to end up regretting that you hadn’t really pushed yourself when you’re old.

Fully dedicate yourself to everything you do and who you are.

It’s what I’ve always been taught . . .

“Itxy, whatever happens to me, promise me that you’re going to kick ass.” — My dad

Why shouldn’t you give your all to everything? It doesn’t seem right to only half try, don’t you think?

Now, don’t get me wrong. Don’t strive to be perfect, that’s a level that doesn’t even exist. Don’t strive for perfection, strive to be the best that you can be—that includes fucking up. If you’re going to fuck up, make it good, make it mean something, and learn from it.

When you don’t give your all to what you love, or even (I’ll explain what I mean by this in a second) what you think you love, it’s a waste of who you are. You’re not honoring what you could be, you’re not even attempting to tap into your full potential, and why not?

Are you afraid of failing? Of ending disappointed?

If you give it your all, and you enjoy it, none of that shit matters. Which brings me to what I said earlier . . .

There will be times where you try something, you give it your all, but then you find out that it’s not really for you.

That’s al-fucking-right.

That’s what discovering, and exploring, and being human is about. It’s about trying new things to see if you like it, and if you don’t, what do you do?

You quit. It’s the only time you’re allowed to quit something new. You’re not allowed to quit if something is “hard” or “taking too long” or “it’s too much,” but if you genuinely, really hate something, then try something new! No sweat. It’s that simple.

Try things, and keep going with the things you love and . . .

If you’re lazy, I don’t care and frankly, you shouldn’t care either. You get up and get to work and give it everything you’ve got.

Even if you just can’t wait to watch the next episode of Riverdale, decide right then and there you’re going to do what you need to do anyway. You can watch the episode before you go to bed! I’m not taking that away from you, not when I watch a million and one shows.

But you need to have discipline, and you need to make the right choices. The ones that’ll take you one step closer to where you want to be.

Surprise yourself. Fuck everyone else’s expectations, exceed your own. It’s harder to start, and to be the best in the beginning, but . . .

If you’re just taking the first step toward something, and you think it’s worthless, and not even worth giving it you’re all—it counts. Every step you take counts no matter how miniscule.

So even then, give it all of your effort. It’s the best thing you can do, not only for yourself, but for others, too.

You can’t decide that you’re going to try on this step, but not on the next because it doesn’t matter that much. It does. Every step you take means something, everything you do matters even if you can’t see your impact right away or even ever.

Put in everything you have to whatever you’re going to do. Don’t just walk around semi-trying in life, not really knowing what you’re doing. Plus, there’s a benefit to always trying your best, and that’s that . . .

Because, like I said, nothing will matter, not even failure, because you know that you gave this one thing everything in you.

You’ll have no regrets because you really tried. There’s no thinking, “I should have tried harder,” because you left it all on stage, as performers say.

You couldn’t have done any better, so there’s no worry about the “failure.”

Being good at whatever you are will make you feel awesome! You know when you’re actually being productive it makes you feel good about yourself? That’s what I mean.

You’ll feel proud, fulfilled, and accomplished even if you didn’t accomplish what you wanted. How freaking great is that?

We all think that success and accomplishing are goals are what’s going to make us happy, but really it’s the process that should bring you more joy than anything else.

So, make it your goal: Find something you love and be the best in the world.

Put in all the existing effort in you to everything you do this week and tell me how it made you feel in the comments below!
