Hey guys, in today’s video I’ll be talking about breaking the hearts of these 3 specific habits and letting them go!

1. OBSESSING OVER PLANS

There’s nothing wrong with making goals, and planning them out. I do the exact same thing. However, it becomes a problem when you obsess over them way too much, to the point where let’s say that you have a goal to reach 200 subscribers on your YouTube channel by the beginning of next month.

When the day gets closer, you realize that you haven’t reached that goal and you get angry, you get pissed off. You just get discouraged because you don’t reach that goal. The only thing to do then is to simply adjust the goal and move it to the next month and on and on. So, don’t obsess over plans, just go with the flow!

2. PERFECTIONISM

The same way that you shouldn’t obsess over goals and plans, you shouldn’t obsess over the things you do. Nothing you do will ever be perfect. The things you do will be incredible, they’ll be exceptional, but nothing will ever be perfect.

Let’s say that you have a presentation for class and you’re satisfied with it, but then you read it over again and again just to double check and you realize that you’re not satisfied anymore.

You’re just putting yourself down because you want it to be perfect when in reality it’s good, and it’s pointless! Like, your work is great! Sometimes there’s no need to go over it and make it perfect. It’s a waste of time, too!

Don’t get me wrong, though! There’s nothing wrong with going over your work and wanting to improve it, but after a while when you do check it over, and over, and over again, and you start obsessing and you want it to be perfect, that’s when you should probably say okay, I’m going to stop now. I’m gonna leave it as it is.

3. THINKING THAT YOUR PROBLEMS DON’T MATTER

This is a habit that you should break the heart of a million times, over and over again because your feelings, your thoughts, your opinions, THEY ARE ALL VALID.

Your problems matter, they’re important!! You shouldn’t think that they’re anything less because I know that sometimes we do think that what we’re struggling with, it doesn’t matter and we think that other people, like our friends and family, won’t want to hear what we have to complain about, but they’re your friends and family for a reason.

They’re there to help you and to give you advice. So, please, stop thinking that your problems don’t matter and open up to others.

3 WAYS TO BREAK A HABIT

1. SUBSTITUTE THAT BAD HABIT FOR SOMETHING ELSE

If you find yourself obsessing over your goals and plans, take out a piece of paper and write down, I trust that the Universe will get me to where I want to be. And anytime you find yourself about to obsess over something, do that! Let it go and get on with your day.

2. VISUALIZE YOURSELF SUCCEEDING

If you find yourself trying to make something perfect, instead visualize yourself doing that thing you just did and imagine it all going well, no matter how bad you think it is because like I said, it’s probably really good, you just don’t believe so. So, just imagine yourself giving that presentation and succeeding.

3. USE THE WORD BUT

Let’s say that you don’t think that your problems are valid. So, when you find yourself trying to tell someone how you feel, then say I don’t want to bother this person, BUT I know that I have to, BUT I know that I have to put myself first, BUT they’re my friends and I know that they actually care about me.

Finally, habits are hard to replace, so really, you just need to remain patient and trust that you’ll be able to let go of these habits and make those substitutes instead. So, it’s really just you trusting in yourself and keep going because there will be times when you fall into those habits again and you just gotta get out of it.

That’s it for this video (blog post!) Thanks for watching 🙂
