“You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” -Robin Williams
Everyone reading this is crazy. The people not reading this? Crazy. Basically, everyone is insane. Some are more than others, but everyone’s mad.
Do you know why everyone’s deranged a bit? Because we’re all meant to use that side of us to create something beautiful in this world.
The great thing about it is that we all have it, which means that no one can say crap to you. However, that’s not the case, is it? No, because some people aren’t aware of the magic inside of them. Or they simply ignore it because they’re afraid. They only judge, and talk shit because they’re not strong enough to let their crazy out like you are.
What do you do about that? Nothing. You ignore them.
There’s this part inside all of us that doesn’t really care about negativity and what others think. Give it attention, put all your other feelings aside, and it’ll start acting like a wild thing. That “one little spark of madness,” is the catalyst you need to do what you need to do.
Don’t let it die out. Stop allowing society to deter you from being you.
I know you sometimes feel like you’re too weird for society, but you really aren’t. We ALL are. Embrace it.
What do you need to do with the batshit crazy side of you that you think is too weird for society? Let’s find out!
1. DO THE ONE THING YOU TRULY WANT TO DO IN LIFE
Aside from all of us being insane, we all have dreams and aspirations. You need to bring out the carefree side of you and go after what you really want in life. Be an astronaut, start your own coffee shop, a copywriter, anything you want.
It doesn’t matter how out there it may seem. It doesn’t matter if that’s not what your parents want for you. Who gives a shit about the risks? The humiliation? Tap into the wild side of you and do what makes you happy.
2. DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE THE LUNATIC YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE
Stop pretending to be someone you’re not. You’re too fucking spectacular to hide your true self. So you have a very loud laugh! Who cares? That’s great! It just means that everyone knods that you’re happy. You might even make them laugh with your contagious laughter.
See? You’re just spreading the happiness.
Have fun, and be true to who you are (as cheesy as it may sound). Life isn’t meant to be boring, and to have you be hidden behind a mask.
3. STOP CARING
Take advantage of the fact that there’s this whole other great side to you, and stop caring about the pessimists who truly believing that you can’t be happy in life.
Stop worrying about how ridiculous you may look or how stupid one may think you are for not going to college or not joining the military like the past 3 generations of your family. Don’t do what you don’t want to do. Do what others aren’t willing to achieve.
3.5. HAVING FUN DOESN’T MEAN BEING IMMATURE AND ACTING LIKE A 5-YEAR-OLD
Yes, have fun and chase your dreams. Go crazy. However, don’t ignore your responsibilities. You have shit to do. Don’t let it overwhelm you, but don’t pretend that they’re non-existent too. You need to be there for others, do your homework, or pay your bills. Understand when it’s it the right time to do what you need to do.
4. BE CRAZY ENOUGH TO CONTINUE ON
Fear, doubt, and failure are probably in the back of your mind, resting there like as if it were taking a permanent vacation. Despite all the obstacles in the world, always continue forward. Sometimes, you might feel like you won’t make it, but I promise you, you will. You’re just experiencing a setback in whatever it is that you’re doing and that’s perfectly okay.
“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do.” – Steve Jobs
No one ever said that it would be a simple and easy life. But, you can become a better person, and overcome whatever comes your way. You can always rise up above anything in the world that’s holding you back and dragging you down. Just don’t give up, okay?
This week, do the thing that you were too afraid to do last week. Rise above all the people pushing you down and tell them that you’re going to go to fashion school instead of Stanford after you’re done with h(ell)igh school.
Don’t be afraid to tear down the mask and be who you truly are. So, by next Monday, tell me. How’d you feel opening up? How’d your friends or family react when you told them you were going to quit your job and start your own business? Leave a comment below too!
